Allocations

What is an allocation?

An allocation is a water budget. Within the County Groundwater Sustainability Agency (County GSA), there are allocations for irrigated acres within the County GSA in the Madera, Chowchilla, and Delta-Mendota Subbasins. The allocations decrease over time.

When were allocations adopted?

After extensive public outreach, on June 8, 2021, the County GSA adopted an allocation for irrigated acres for the County GSA in the Madera, Chowchilla and Delta-Mendota Subbasins.

What is the allocation?

The table below shows the inches of evapotranspiration of applied water (ETAW) per irrigated acre within the allocation.*

 

*The allocation is only for the County GSA (white areas) and only for acres irrigated as of June 8, 2021.
